Are your holidays suitable for Solo Travellers?

Most travellers who join us on our holidays are solo travellers who look forward to travel independently, meet new people, enjoy new experiences and make new memories. The highlight of traveling with us, The Silver Surfers Travel Club, is how easy it is to find your place within our intimate groups. Given that our north star is community, group cohesiveness and like mindedness, chances are you will walk into a room full of strangers, and be welcomed by brand new travel friends. Additionally, we believe that traveling with a small group of peers also provides extra security and peace of mind. One word of caution though, the Silver Surfers Travel Club can be addictive!  

Will I get to meet travellers from around the world?

Friends in Places is our motto! Our vision is to not just be a Travel Club, we want to build and grow an inclusive Silver Travel Community from around the world - a family of friends, traveling for fun, inspiring and supporting each other. So yes, we do definitely hope you will meet and make friends with like-minded travellers from across the world.

Can I travel with the Club without becoming a member?

Yes of course you can. If for some reason, you do decide that the Silver Membership program and belonging to a traveling community of comrades isn’t for you, you can still join one of our holidays once you’ve passed our screening process. However, you won’t have access to any of our fabulous benefits and advantages on offer.

What types of tours do you organize?

The Silver Surfers Travel Club offers small friendly group tours to its members visiting destinations across continents, offering a diverse variety of cultural journeys. Members can choose a relaxed beach or spa holiday, be adventurous with wildlife and tribal safaris, visit awe inspiring natural wonders or stay away from the crowds in remote and exotic locations. We believe there is something for every ‘Seenager’ traveller and we cater to different budgets and activity levels.

Each of our trips are graded by levels of physical activity, which means you can choose the group tour that fits your needs and preferences to the T. We personalize our holiday itineraries bearing in mind the age of our traveling group and the activity level our travellers prefer, specifically planning out hotels, traveling routes and holiday activities - keeping the comfort and safety of our traveling members as our north star. We want our members to have everything they’d want in an ideal vacation! 

Do I need to be physically fit to become a member?

Although we do not expect members to have abs like Tom Cruise at 60, we do require members to be confident in their ability to join us for walking tours and excursions. Our tours are open to 50+ active, mobile travellers with the ability to move around, efficiently and agilely in small groups.

When you sign up, please share information regarding your tour activity level preferences. We promise to give you detailed descriptions about the activity levels included in each tour. And, of course, if you are uncertain about your suitability for any of our tours, we encourage you to feel welcome to contact us.

What group sizes do you cater to?

At the Silver Surfers Travel Club, we do not support conveyor-belt tourism, where groups are pushed through a rigid itinerary at the expense of spontaneity. We prefer to focus on small intimate group sizes to dream destinations with people you’d be proud to call your friends. Going small and intimate also allows us to provide you with exceptional value, personalized services, unique itineraries and a dedicated team to help you personally through every step of the journey.

How are your holidays priced?

The Silver Surfer Travel Club has access to a vast network of accommodation types around the world and curate affordable holidays. We believe in the fundamental importance of trust which is why we consistently deliver high calibre journeys at an affordable price. We plan our tours independently and offer experiences that are eventful, stimulating and great value for money.

What is the general duration of your holidays?

Our tours vary from 5 to 20 days and are considered exciting soft adventure trips that foster a sense of community. We like to take things at a leisurely pace and while you’re on your trip, you can do as much or as little as you would like. We accept the importance of covering national treasures in every magical getaway but equally we like to visit interesting off beat places to enrich the travel experience.

Do you have tour leaders?

Every group holiday will have a travel tribe leader who plays the part of a concierge, a friend and tour leader, all rolled into one. Our tribe leaders are knowledgeable, passionate and love to go the extra mile for the community. Their teamwork, innovation and warm heart will ensure every trip is a memorable and fulfilling travel experience for each member. Whether it is to keep the enthusiasm going or to find quick solutions, your tribe leader will be available at every step of the way to make your trip safe, comfortable and fun.
