Didn't we all love our cartoons growing up? While the innocent flair of the characters breezed away large chunks of our afternoons over years (and decades!) gone past, we kept a keen eye out for some of the older folks in them, and heck, were they good enough for a laugh or two!
1. Granny from The Looney Tunes
Emma Webster, better known as Granny, is a Warner Bros. Cartoons character created by Friz Freleng, best known from Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies animated shorts of the 1950s and 1960s. She is the owner of Tweety (and more often than not, Sylvester and Hector)
2. Mammy Two Shoes
Mammy Two Shoes is a heavy-set middle-aged black woman who often has to deal with the mayhem generated by the lead characters in the evergreen Tom and Jerry. The owner of Tom, one of Jerry's common tactics is to try to sabotage a task Mammy has given Tom or destroy the house and/or its contents, in order to get Tom thrown out of the house. But of course, you knew all about that already didn't you? :)
3. Muriel Bagge
A sweet-natured Scottish woman of Courage the Cowardly Dog fame, she lives along with her husband Eustace, a grouchy, greedy man who constantly harasses poor Courage. Courage was found in an alleyway by Muriel, who took him up as her own. The trio frequently run into monsters, aliens, demons, mad scientists, zombies and other supernatural perils from myths and legends that Courage must fend off to save his owners (Muriel included!), unbeknownst to them. Her lovable aura gives a much needed human touch to the show, and it's better off for it.
4. Grandmama
Ah, the good ol' The Addams Family! Grandmama is the grandmother of the Addams children, Pugsley and Wednesday Addams, although her relationship to the other family members is less clear. Grandmama is known for her cynical—and sometimes morbid—sense of humor and her recreational interest in the occult. She is often shown concocting various potions, spells and hexes for a multitude of purposes, and even dabbles in fortune-telling.
5. Jacqueline Ingrid "Jackie" Bouvier (née Gurney)

Born December 18, 1919), occasionally referred to as Mrs. Bouvier or Grandma Bouvier, is the mother of Selma, Patty and Marge Bouvier, the maternal grandmother of Bart, Hugo (non-canon), Lisa, and Maggie Simpson and Ling Bouvier, and the widow of the late Clancy Bouvier. She also had a sister named Gladys who is now deceased due to a bowel obstruction. Jacqueline is about 80 years old.
Foolishly good-natured, she is easily led. Many of the troubles they have as a family are due to Grandmama's bumbling persona that provides some excellent comedy value!
